Rachel was born at 12:32 on 22 July 2002. She's beautiful.

At 12 minutes old, we're already photogenic!

Photos that were previously here are almost all still available, with a few additions:

• Two ultrasound scans are the first pictures we have of Rachel.
• The first week of photos are nearly all based in hospital, because there were a few complications immediately after the birth, so Jane and Rachel spending nearly a week there.
• Miscellaneous pictures, covering relatives, sleep, lego and stuff, from August and early September.
• A page full of expressions, which were taken on the day Rachel was two months old.
• A NCT post-ante-natal class reunion, when we tried to fill a pub with 3 or 4 months old babies ... I bet that cheered the regulars.
• Around four months old, we're showing more interest in things and people, and also looking decidedly bored!
• Our very first christmas, and the meeting with Pangbourne Bear.
• Solid(ish) food, also snow, and flying lessons.
• M for Monster, also T for Tricycle Trailer and H for Hammock.

Birthday Girl!

One year old, and we've recently taken up riding mummy's old horse.

Presents

Our cruel parents decided we're only getting one present a day. Today we got a robin which sings if you squeeze its back. Although slightly perplexing at first ...

we soon made friends...

and decided he looked peckish, so fed him some wrapping paper.

Actually, come to mention it, perhaps we'll go for the old stand-by and find the wrapping paper much more interesting!

No, back to robin.

Party!

At the weekend, we had a very select party - just the godparents and a few friends. Despite the met office promising heavy showers, we spent the whole afternoon in our (wild-look) garden in warm sunshine.

More presents, and this time we got them all at once. A jigsaw, some alphabet blocks, clothes and a fascinating house. You drop the ball in teh chimney, and it runs out the back...

which is cause enough for wild cheering!

And of course, with birthday parties, you get birthday cake, cooked by mummy and decorated by daddy. A marvelous day.
